Kiki is an excitable and bubbly young woman. She discovered her magical powers one evening when she was a teenager. Overwhelmed with loneliness, she unwittingly made a Magical Contract with her MP3 player. That MP3 player turned into her Artificial Familiar, Forrest.

Some time later, she met Kai Gourami, mistaking him for an ordinary betta fish at a pet store. With Kai's help, Kiki and Forrest learn how to use their magical powers. Together, they defend their hometown from evil magical beings causing havoc.
