Vierwelt

The land of Vierwelt consists of vast mountain ranges and deep oceans. The four races of Vierwelt (Salamanders, Undines, Gnomes, and Sylphs) are collectively known as Elementals.

The concept of Balance is a pillar of Vierwelt's society. It's common knowledge that no one Magical Element is stronger than another, and that no one Elemental cannot exist without the help of the other three.

It is believed that once an Elemental dies, they are reborn as an Elemental of a different element.

Salamanders

Salamanders are bipedal lizard-like creatures born from deep within Vierwelt's mountains within lava veins. Their hardy disposition make them strong warriors.

Though many of them specialize in Fire magic, certain Salamanders are born with the ability to use Earth magic instead. It is theorized that the location of a Salamander's birth dictates its Magical Element, but more reaserch is needed.

Undines

Undines are half-humanoid and half-fish creatures that reside beneath the ocean's depths. From the torso up, they have humanoid features, and from the torso down, they have fish-like tails. Fins protrude from the top and sides of their heads, their backs, and their forearms. Gills can be seen on the left and right sides of their necks. They have sunken eyes and sharp teeth as well.

They're social creatures and often mingle with the other races of the realm. They are famous for their beautiful singing voices, and many of them work as entertainers.

Most of them specialize in Water magic, however, half-Undines may use Earth, Wind, or Fire magic.

Gnomes

Gnomes are rock creatures born from underground caverns, mountaintops, and steep cliffsides. They start off as large boulders when they're born, but whittle down to small pebbles as they age due to erosion.

Gnomes are known for being expert blacksmiths and machinists; they provide a lot of the technology that the other races use in their everyday lives.

Gnomes mainly specialize in Earth magic, but some have been known to use other types of magic. If not Earth magic, those born from igneous rocks are more likely to use Fire magic, those born from sedimentary rocks are more likely to use Water or Wind magic, and those born from metamorphic rocks have an equal chance of using Fire, Water, or Wind magic.

Sylphs

Sylphs are cloud-creatures born from the clouds that hang above the Realm.

Being literally swift as the wind, many Sylphs serve as Vierwelt's messengers.

Sylphs mainly specialize in Wind magic, but if born close to bodies of water, they may be born with the ability to use Water magic instead.
